Hi, I’m Mariana Mejia!
A product designer and user researcher based in Toronto, Canada. I adore understanding user needs and making evidence based designs. I have worked in UI/UX, accessibility design research, design education and open source design.

Interests
As one can see through my work, I have been very interested in ethnographic research methods, academic literature reviewing, rapid prototyping, and accessibility. I have focused on HCI through my work at the research groups and I am interested in future work in this field.

I believe the most important part of the design is empathizing with the user's story and being able to communicate it. I am trained in:

Throughout my degree and research experience, I have learned technical skills including:
- Product design sketching
- CAD modeling
- Rapid prototyping
- Introductory coding in JS, HTML, CSS and BBC Micro:Bit block programming using VS Code
- Adobe suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, and Figma
- I have also developed a keen eye for aesthetics and design principles.
